The next couple of posts will be about yarn and projects. If you find neither all that interesting, feel free to skip this bit.
Since the light was actually conducive to taking a decent picture today, I decided to provide some sort of record with pictures of the various bits and pieces of my knitting and plans for the same. That way, when the cops do the forensic study of the yarn closet, they'll have a better idea what I was thinking.
First, the mystery of the angora.
(Just so you know -- the mystery isn't the yarn itself. I mean -- it is angora without a doubt. The label tells me this, as does the fact that it feels just like a bunny, albeit a blue or raspberry one.)
(Also, the mystery isn't where the yarn came from. My good friend Quinn, who makes wonderous stained-glass drop spindles as well as a tasy avocado and corn salad, gave me a shoebox-sized box full of the stuff. It had come from her grandmother, originally. (I think. She brought the box with her when she came to stay after the Dude arrived. My memory wasn't at its usual tack-like sharpness at the time.) Anyway, I know how I wound up with it.)
The mystery is who "A.C.A." is and what happened to them. While I don't *need* to know anything about the yarn's manufacturing and distribution history, I'm curious, especially since I can't find any evidence of this company and yarn ever existing. I can find dozens of folks trying to sell it on eBay, but they have even less information that I do.
My lack of solid information, however, doesn't stop me from plotting what it will be. I have a fair bit more of the raspberry color, which I intend to make into an Irish Hiking Scarf. The yarn may have other ideas, but we'll see how it goes. The blue I'll be reserving for another project, TBD. There's enough for trim on a hat or some gloves.
