"The enormous care lavished on material that would never be worthy of the effort is more moving than the film; the addition adds pathos to inertia. The will to believe, without which a popular artist has to give up even trying, does not just turn sows' ears into silk purses; more often, it makes silk ears, beautifully surfaced and yet still attached to the same old animal."

Also - Memo to spouse: I so wish we'd done this dance at our wedding. And no, Katie, you weren't the last one to see it.

Best first dance ever!
I found your blog through a link on an article of yours on babble.com regarding PPD and just ordered your book. Lord knows I could use a laugh or two about it all. :)

Geee....Joe and I just danced to Unchained Melody. How dull we are. Maybe we'll use this to completely embarrass the kids at a Renewal of Vows ceremony for our 25th anniversary. They'd be 19 and 17, so it'd be about perfect.

Bren - Thanks! And hang in there. I don't know how moms with more than two niblets do it.
Heidi - mine'll be 17 and 14. Awesome! Hopefully, we'll still be limber enough to pull it off.
