From the local almost daily: explaining "coup d'etat" to a six year old.
And we are finally back from all of the holiday traveling and I, for one, have no intention to sleep in any bed that isn't my own until spring. That said, if someone has a bed in the Caribbean that I could borrow for awhile, I'd entertain the idea. In fact, I'd take it out for drinks and a movie and not even expect it to put out later.
Anyhoo, while we were driving around Rochester this weekend, one of the radio stations was having an '80s weekend. First song was the Ramone's "I Wanna Be Sedated," which is still one of the best pop-punk nuggets ever. It was followed by Starship's "Sara," which is one of those pop songs that makes you hate the band retroactively. Because of that song, I can't listen to "White Rabbit" without cringing. As Scott put it, it's like the Highlander II of pop music, in that it ruins what was a really wonderful thing that came before.

We should eventually put our daughters alone in a room together and see if through their mutual love of semantics and being words they create a whole new language. Or maybe they'd both just implode.

At least your daughter only tries to deconstruct meanings and not your home.

Heidi - I think they'd be too busy deconstructing all of their moms' foibles to explode.
Debra - Thanks.
Lee - And now you retroactively hate Starship, yes?
Casey - No, the Boy seems to be taking care of destroying our home...
