* When looking for the agent of your death, look in the mirror, not abroad. (Scroll down a little to get to the beginning of the essay.)
* True Mom Confessions just make me sad. I should be the last to judge but if you are that unhappy, you're doing it wrong and need a break. Martyrdom isn't its own reward.
* Peter Sagal on gay marriage. Preach it**, brother.
* A slideshow of botched disaster responses, lead off by Italy's whistleass-in-chief Silvio Berlusconi. I need to remember to ask my Dad - also a Silvio - how he feels about Berlusconi trashing his first name.
* I loved Mike and Mel on The Amazing Race. I love them even more in this interview with Terry Gross (who I think was flirting with Mike). Also a hoot is Gross' interview with Russell Brand, who I want to have read his book to me.
* I'm all for crafting whatever it is that you want to craft. Still, I have to admit that I don't quite get these potted plant cozies. What am I missing?
* This poster full of advice for time travelers has been posted all over the place. Here it is again, because I love it.
* This makes me sad: Dr. Steven Parker died. Who will give us common sense kid advice now?
* On a more life affirming note: from Doula K: More proof that train stations are the theaters of the future.

** in a totally nonsecular sense

That video from the Antwerp train station rocks!
Who wants to meet in Muller Plaza for a chorus or two of "The Lonely Goatherd"?

That back in time poster is just the thing for me. One of my greatest fears is going back in time and not having penicillin. Now I know how to "make" it.
I haven't read the mommy confessions, but I think that's exactly the kind of thing I envisioned in my dissertation. The really bad things usually happen when people can't say how they really feel about their kids.

Berlusconi - well since there are very few Silvio's, we each carry a greater load. Going deeper into the link, the Barbara's and Phil's can spread the stupidity around more. Although there is so very much George W. whistleassness, it does not matter how many George's there are. Their burden is very great in deed. Far greater than mine.
I am more pissed about the Appletini and the other lame ass varients.

Speaking of gay marriage, I just got an email from the RNC asking me to be a Tea Bagger.

Thank you for the Sagal link...I would have missed it today and then possibly not gotten back to it for weeks. One of my student groups did an amazing project today on this issue--just astonishing for UT students! There is great hope in my heart right now.
BTW, I love this man...in my dreams.."Wait, Wait" is in my future :)

I am always up for the Lonely Goatherd. We might want to wait until it's warmer so that we can wear liederhosen and drindls.
You should read the mommy confessions if you get a chance, Anna. I'd be interested in your take.
I wonder what Cormac's stupidity burden will be. There can't be many of them.
Matthew - words fail.
I *heart* Sagal as well. You should read Vice.
