As mentioned earlier,* we've started locking The Boy's door at night until he winds himself down and goes to sleep. For what it's worth, I don't even lock the door anymore, for the most part. Once he figured out that it wasn't going to open, he stopped testing it.
Anyhoo. There is a new complication. We've added a bookshelf in his room. Now he wants to stay up all night pulling books off of the shelves and lying on the floor to read them. Sleep keeps winning, tho.
Exhibit A:
And, offered with only the comment that the easily offended might want to look away, Exhibit B:
It's going to be a long summer.
* So far, there's only been one piece of "how dare you!" mail, the writer of which wanted to remain anonymous. Her message was, essentially, the ASPCA and the Department of Child Welfare ought to be called. Also, I ought to be ashamed of myself. Noted.

ah. booty shots to add to the long list of things you can hold over his head at a later date. I hold alot of things over my sister's head.. being the oldest I feel it is my singular right to say "I remember when..."

That's so sweet he wants to be with his books so badly.

I cracked up looking at exhibit B. You should pull those out when his new--hypothetical future--girlfriend comes over. My MIL did (my dude standing in the bathtub). Fortunately my parents has a sense of decorum. Or else all the slides of my early childhood were ruined by poor storage. Then again, some nipple shots have been preserved. (Sissy and I preferred shirtlessness.)

For a small fee, I will burn the slide of a certain young lady fresh from her bath, reclining on her changing table.

Fond memories of my own little man found in the mornings half naked after tearing off his diaper in the middle of the night. I wish he was after his bookcase, though - we typically found him cuddled up to his train table.

He's a big fan of books. I'm sure it'll pass -- but we're enjoying it while we can. His sister, however, is largely indifferent to them. She reads and all, but doesn't seem driven to do so.
Last night he was cuddled up with Big TOe, his new stuffed monster, which was cute with a big c.
