* An off-hand comment I sent to Sport Illustrated's tennis-beat reporter/resident expert Wertheim wound up in his mailbag column. I'm nearly bursting with excitement, especially since my name is that close to Andy Roddick's picture. It's the simple things.
* Wine drinking and knitting: A partnership whose day has come.
* I'm debating about driving down to the city with the Diva to catch Ellen K's Klezmer Nutcracker. I aheb no doubt that the show will be great; I'm just not sure if I want to schlep a 7-year old to it. Still, hotel rooms are cheap right now and a little klezmer can make any schlep worth it.
* Octopus glasses!
* I wonder what percentage of my college students just got "Turkey Dropped."
* Want to drive down your company's health care costs? Encourage your employees to eat better.
* I actually sat in the garage so that I could hear the end of Neil Gaiman's NPR piece on audiobooks. I'm a big fan of the form, btw, and am working through Pratchett's discworld in audio form. I'm up to Guards! Guards!

In a sad state of affairs, I read that health advice as "Encourage your employees to eat butter." Also, glasses awesome. And klezmer too.

Separately, G and I did the same thing with Gaiman's piece, although I came in late and didn't know it was him until the end. Looking forward to going online to listen the entire thing.

Octupus glasses were pretty cool, but I was expecting Octopus *spectacles* - these were sort of a let down, actually.
