I have a major Deadliest Catch addiction. The Northwestern is the boat I would work on if forced at gunpoint to go fishing for crab in the Bering Sea. When I saw this for $2 at the local ice cream shop/antique store/farmstand, I had to pick it up. It is about what you'd expect. The writing is meh, the stories are interesting. - Neil deGrasse Tyson: Space Chronicles: Facing the Ultimate Frontier
I read a chapter here and there around other reading, mostly because it's not a linear sort of book, rather it's one of nuggets. Good nuggets, mostly, even if they can get a little repetitive. - Tim Powers: Hide Me Among the Graves: A Novel
If I may be so bold - and I'm only about halfway through, which means that there is still time for it to go horribly wrong - this might be among Powers best.

Love it! My husband recently used my backup toothbrush, kept in a cup by the kitchen sink, to clean something (minus ten points). He then rinsed it and put it back in the cup (plus two points).
A few days later, when I didn't have time to do the full electric toothbrush routine and instead did the quick brush with the backup toothbrush, I wondered aloud why my toothbrush tasted like hand lotions (or hand soap).
In case you are wondering, it takes three dishwasher cycles to fully eliminate the soapy taste from a toothbrush.
