A quickie rundown of stuff on my desk, which may or may not be interesting, with pictures and commentary. Such as it is.
One of the more amusing things about our trip to Prague a few years ago was that the house brand at the nearby grocery store was called "Clever." You could buy all sorts of Clever things, like toilet paper and sugar and ketchup and yogurt. My kids still ask for Clever milk, even now, two years on. Our friend Karl, with whom we stayed when we were there, had an opportunity to schlep a dozen-ish Hartwick students around the Czech Republic and Ukraine a few weeks ago and returned with presents for Scott and I. Who doesn't need Clever kleenex?
There appear to be directions for use on the back of the packets. Or something. Maybe a warning? The word "tolerance" is used.
This yarn will be mittens. It was a gift from a dear friend who'd been to New Zealand. I can think of no better use for it.
The book that it's on is an ARC of NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. The book is very very good, btw. But this isn't about that.
The Boy saw me reading it and said, "Is that called 'N-O-S-Four-A-Two?'"
"Yes," I said. And I was preparing to explain what it meant, he looked at me and said, "Is it about Nosferatu?"
To which I said nothing, because his brain is far quicker than mine.
Lastly, Lucy is keeping an eye out for her boyfriends, Graham and Winston, who live next door. I keep telling her that they are far too old for her but she won't listen. Typical.

* if nothing else, read about their trip to Chernobyl.

Love the hyper-alert dog at the window. Ours only do that pose for squirrels.

Glad you're "enjoying" the kleenex.
The "tolerance" is a +/- 5% band on the quantity and dimensions of the contents. Since it says there are 10 in the package, I guess that means you can count on there being somewhere between 9.5 and 10.5 in reality. Though those half kleenexes don't really make the +/1 5% size tolerance. Oh well.
