With deepest respect and sympathy to the family in the Time article, I really have to question their decision to go so far afield in beginning his cancer treatment. A local hospital could at least connect them to local cancer resources to help with support and bills. That said, I agree there are a lot of things wrong about the events of this article. Why do cancer and tragedy equal profit to so many hospitals?

Gloom sounds like an awesome way to giggle up our Christmases in the Poconos!
I always look forward to your many things posts, but then am stymied because the school network denies me access to so many of them. :( I have to remember to check these links from home, instead.

I've ordered Gloom. If Scott and I can find time, we'll take it for a test run.
I have zero doubt that there are inaccuracies in the health care story -- any story that comprehensive will not have explored every possible resource because a line eventually has to be drawn if you want to publish -- but, yeah, why is suffering such a money maker? The system is faulty.
It makes me want to run away to the pony place....
