-- from Cider Hard and Sweet: History, Traditions and Making Your Own by Ben Watson
There were apple growers at the farmers' market of my children's childhood who looked exactly like the Mario Brothers. They sometimes had Arkansas Black. An apple that God made on one of Her best days.

Freiherr von Berlepsch
Why do I hear horses whinny when I read this one aloud?

The Sir Prize reminds me of one of my favorite childhood books in which all the characters had punny names. Well, with a title like Knight After Knight, what would you expect? The hapless heroine is named Myste Tiff Fyde, her love interest is Sir Bastion, his father is Sir Prize, she's the ward of Sir Taxe, etc., etc.
And Summer Rambo just makes me think of Stallone in gingham. Which is just wrong.
Now I want apples. Phooey.
