up with figs, bored, bored, bored

Once upon a time, Lisa and Adrienne worked for the same alternative newsweekly. Now, both spend their respective lives mining their creative souls and leading hermit-like lives. And so an idea was hatched. Every week, one would send the other a sketch—either in illustration or word form—and the other would make a companion to the sketch. The result would be posted on both their blogs every week, just for grins. Even if the result isn't award-worthy, the exercise makes both minds more nimble. Hopefully.
Dear Lisa,
I’m not sure what you were going for with this but what you have managed to capture is my ideal day. The day I dream of, when I can stare out the window, fly paper airplanes, and flop over the back of a wing chair like a cat. If I were 8, mind, this would be the worst day ever. But at 40? I am all over that. Bring it on.
Hope you all are well,
-Adrienne

I would very much like the opportunity to be bored. You know, just for the *variety*.

These are some adorable illustrations. As a part time graphic designer, the idea of collaboration in order to produce something that's bigger than you is always a captivating idea. :)
